The Arc'teryx Atom Jacket is an easy layer to find a reason to wear. Coreloft synthetic insulation adds useful warmth without much bulk and continues insulating when damp, while stretch fleece side panels let excess heat escape and give the jacket a more natural feel when you're moving.

Wear it under a shell skiing, on its own for hiking and everyday cold weather, or keep it around for pretty much any situation where a sweatshirt isn't enough and a full winter jacket is too much. The updated version uses recycled Coreloft insulation and a PFAS-free DWR treatment for some added protection against light weather.
