Atomic Maverick 88 CTI Skis 2027
Beschreibung
The Atomic Maverick 88 CTI is one of the most improved skis in Atomic's lineup. The outgoing Maverick 88 Ti had an impressive blend of low weight, edge grip, and power, but it could feel a bit unforgiving for skiers who weren't driving it aggressively all day. The new CTI version keeps the strong frontside performance while adding a smoother, more adaptable personality that works across a wider range of conditions and skier types.
Atomic updated the shape, softened the overall flex pattern, and reworked the construction around a Poplar and Ash wood core combined with carbon, fiberglass, and strategically placed Titanal. The result is a ski that feels woodier, more natural, and less reactive than its predecessor. It still has plenty of energy coming out of a turn, but without the nervous or pingy feel that some lighter metal skis can produce.
At roughly 1770 grams in the 179 cm length, the Maverick 88 CTI remains impressively lightweight for a directional all-mountain ski. That lower weight makes it easy to maneuver through bumps, trees, and mixed terrain while still providing enough substance underfoot to carve confidently on firm snow. Compared to the Elan Ripstick 88, the Maverick feels slightly stronger and more planted underfoot, but gives up a bit of the Ripstick's lightning-fast edge-to-edge quickness and effortless maneuverability.
The updated rocker profile and redesigned tip shape are also noticeable improvements. The Maverick now enters turns more smoothly, releases more predictably, and performs better when conditions soften up. While nobody is confusing an 88 mm ski for a powder tool, this version is significantly more comfortable off-piste than the outgoing Maverick 88 Ti.
The Maverick 88 CTI sits in a sweet spot for advanced skiers who spend most of their time on groomers but don't want a ski that becomes a handful when they venture into bumps, trees, or afternoon chop. It's precise enough to satisfy strong technical skiers while remaining approachable enough that you don't have to ski at 100% effort all day to enjoy it
