BOOTFITTER'S NOTES
The Burton Waverange X Pro is one of the most impressive new boots out.
Not because it's the stiffest boot Burton has ever made, but because it isn't.
Instead, Burton packed every premium feature they have into a boot that most riders will actually enjoy wearing all day. That's a combination we don't see very often.
Forever the boot that gets the best liner, best adjustability, newest tech updates, is always the stiffest option the brand offers. Not this time.
The Triple BOA PerformFit Wrap system gives you an incredible amount of control over how the boot feels. You can independently fine-tune the lower shell, upper cuff, and internal ankle wrap, making it easy to lock your heel in place without overtightening the rest of the boot. The result is one of the most customizable fits Burton has ever offered.
Just as importantly, the shape of the boot feels incredibly well balanced. The heel and ankle hold are excellent, creating a secure connection that minimizes movement where you want control most. Up front, the forefoot and toe box remain neutral, allowing your foot to relax instead of feeling squeezed into an overly narrow performance fit. It's the kind of fit that feels secure without becoming exhausting.
The Asym Life Liner is so good. It molds up insanely well and doesn't budge. These take forever to pack out giving you the same dialed fit season after season.
On snow, the Waverange X Pro rides exactly the way we'd hoped. It has enough support to confidently drive powerful snowboards and carve aggressively, but it never crosses into that ultra-stiff category that can make long days feel like work. Instead, it delivers a smooth, almost surfy feel that makes turning your snowboard feel fluid and controlled.
For riders chasing the best fit Burton has to offer—not simply the stiffest flex—the Waverange X Pro is one of the most compelling boots going.
