The Mammut Haldigrat HS Bib Pant hits a nice middle ground between a burly freeride bib and something you’d actually want to tour in.

The 40D Mammut DRY Expedition shell provides 30K waterproofing and 30K breathability without making the pant excessively heavy or stiff. Long two-way side vents dump heat on the way up, while the higher bib keeps snow out and gives you extra coverage when conditions get deep.

Mammut also beefs up the areas that take abuse with Dyneema ski-edge protection, integrated gaiters, and water-resistant zippers. Add in roomy thigh pockets—including a Barryvox-compatible pocket and insulated phone sleeve—and you’ve got a technical shell bib that makes just as much sense chasing storms at the resort as it does heading beyond the lifts.
