Salomon gives the Départ JR a Dual Woodcore, Full Sandwich Sidewalls, and Wide Steel Edges, so this isn't just a basic junior ski with a twin-tip shape. It's built with the durability and support kids need when they start skiing harder, landing jumps, and spending more time in the park.

The twin-tip shape makes skiing switch feel natural, while the playful flex makes it easy for lighter skiers to bend the ski, work on butters, and start experimenting with freestyle skiing. It's still perfectly capable of cruising groomers and exploring the rest of the mountain, but its personality is definitely freestyle-first.

The included L6 GW bindings make this a complete setup and an awesome step up for kids who have outgrown basic rental or lease equipment and want something more specific to the way they ski.
